Summer Planting Tips

One of the most common questions we’re asked is, “can I plant trees during the summer?” The answer is yes. It doesn’t matter when the tree is planted (so long as the ground isn’t frozen solid), it does, however, matter when it’s harvested. It’s perfectly safe to plant during the hottest part of the summer because you should be watering the tree diligently for the first year or two after the initial planting. The reason being is that when first planted, the roots are contained in burlap. Thus, they have a limited space to work with. Root development is crucial during the first two years and your trees roots need ample amounts of water to properly grow and effectively sustain the tree.
